What Magic Can An Eco Cleaning Fairy Do In A 2hr Regular Clean?

One of our top Eco Cleaning Fairies, who has been cleaning for us for 4 years has written up what she can get done in a typical 2 hour clean. It really is quite something, have a read and prepared to be amazed...

"This is a weekly two hour job that I've been doing for several years now. It's fairly typical in terms of how much clutter there is. There are houses where all the clutter tends to be cleared from the main living spaces prior to my arrival, and others more like my own, where it would be impossible really, to ever really clear all the clutter!

This particular house, bar one child's bedroom (!) tends to be fairly clear. It is quite large, on three floors. I tend to start in the top bathroom and work my way down. I empty all bins into kitchen bins first and put in outside bins. Then I clean the top bathroom thoroughly; loo, outside of loo, mirror, sink, sink stand, skirtings, fixtures (the shower has been out of action for a while). Next to that is a fairly sensible child's bedroom that often gets a hoover, desk wipe and dust of any other fairly clear surface. I do the first floor bathroom, again thoroughly. Occasionally I can see the rug to hoover it in the second child's bedroom. The main bedroom gets a dust and hoover every now and then as does the study.

The bannisters and skirtings often need doing, and the side bits of the lower stairs next to the carpet need doing every week because they accumulate dust and there is also a (fairly eccentric) cat! I normally hoover the parts of the top two floors that I am hoovering which always includes the bathroom and the landing and often the stairs in addition to what I've already mentioned, before commencing downstairs.

This particular kitchen is fairly straightforward. It is done thoroughly including sink, top of cooker, counters, fridge door and cupboard doors as and when they need it. There is normally some washing up as well. After this I usually dust three additional downstairs rooms (believe it or not!), cleaning side tables, wiping fire places and clean the dining room table. They tend to be fairly tidy.

After this I hoover the whole ground floor. I then mop the first floor bathroom, the kitchen, the hall and often the top bathroom as well. I end up perched on the front mat with all my stuff so as not to spoil the floor, from where I bid farewell to the lady of the house who is often there.

Two hours well spent I say! "
